As a young boy I dreamed of a car that it seemed no one could afford. A car so fast and agile that it was like eating a whole box of Krispy Creme doughnuts while topping it off with a super sized can of Red Bull for the largest induced heart attack of all time.
Now I've grown up and have come to realize my dream of being rapidly accelerated in a beautifully lined exotic Italian Bull is more of a possibility than a dream. I figure while I'm young and still have the flexibility to afford such a car I might as well get it out of the way so I don't have to regret anything when it's become too late.
I have come to deeply admire the 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, The name SuperLeggera translated means "Super Light", but I didn't fall in love with it for it's slight gain in speed and agility but for it's added carbon fiber limbs which compliments it's razor like appearance. Take the original Gallardo V-10 and add about 10 more horsepower plus ceramic brakes to withstand the beatings she's liable to sustain on the track and you have a perfect balance of speed and stopping power. They have taking the interior to new heights as well taking away the plain leather and replacing it with elegantly stitched suede-like alancarta with the stitching matching the exterior color, and matching the exterior carbon fiber mirrors and bonnet with a carbon fiber center console, seat shells, and interior door panels.
With 530 Horsepower at the press of the pedal this rocket is sure to impress, allowing you to be thrown into the back of your seat and reach 0-62 MPH in a blistering 3.8 seconds. Thats a whole 0.2 seconds quicker than the original Gallardo. The Superleggera then obtains 124 mph in just 12.4 seconds.
With only 172 of these cars being produced your sure to be the only one valet'd fashionably outside of the local mall or restaurant. If your a fan of white your out to find the rarest model color produced.
Fuel economy is something to worry about but with todays SUV's getting about the same gas guzzling mileage it shouldn't be a surprise that 12 in the city and 17 on the highway is considered normal. The only difference is you'll have a lot less room for baggage and any children that you'd normally have in the back seat.
It seems to be that you always hear about how high end exotics such as Lamborghini's have a horrible belief that they are so costly to maintain and that they constantly are breaking down. The true fact of the matter is how you drive your car. Are you the kind of person who baby's the car putting less than 500 miles on her a year and using it as a trophy to show off to your neighbors cause that leads to a set of thing I call "Garage Death". To garage a car is one thing to leave it in there and let all the oil leak and seals dry up and then try to take it into the mountains for a weekend get away isn't the brightest idea.
After all it's just a car, it is your responsibility to drive her and let her gallup through streets of the unknown. Take her everywhere you go and you'll avoid those costly trips to the maintenance center every time you pull it out of the garage.
